Are Both Davido And General Pype Doing A Publicity Stunt After Another Version Of “Gbagbe Oshi” Was Released?

ONLYYOUSTUDIOS AND LABELS  exclusively uploaded a controversial song featuring gone to oblivion artist General Pype singing to Davido’s ‘Gbagbe Oshi’ single from his EP, ‘Son Of Mercy’.
Both General Pype and Davido’s version of the song sounded exactly the same; same lyrics, antics, and even the same title that raises bewildering questions if this was an issue of plagiarism or mere publicity stunt.
When ONLYYOUSTUDIOS AND LABELS  reached out to sources, we were told the song (Gbagbe Oshi) was originally recorded by General Pype.
Then, Sony music act Davido bought the song rights for a mere sum of N2million and it was all settled.
However, in a recent interview with a popular blogger in Nigeria, General Pype denied having any allegiance to the song’s origin.
When asked if he wrote the song “Gbagbe Oshi”, he replied:
‘That I don’t know about, what song is that? Gbagbe Oshi? I do dancehall music. You understand? I do dancehall music. Gbagbe Oshi sounds like a typical Naija music.’

So why is General Pype’s version coming out of the woods now? The snake has swallowed the pig.
It gets more bizarre knowing that the same song was produced by the same producer, Shizzy. Oh right.
pype
For Pype, he could use a lot of help from his own impression of ‘Gbagbe Oshi’ considering his once vibrant talent tragically slumped after the release of ‘Champion’ in 2010.
It all makes sense if his release if a marketing strategy for a second awakening for Pype’s musical career.
Otherwise, Davido and Pype are playing mind games with their fans or there is something lurking that we are yet to know about.
What do you think? Is General Pype’s version of Gbagbe Oshi a publicity stunt or copycat?
